2022 is off to a fantastic start for Strategy consulting, involving many promotions, especially to senior positions, and strong additions to European teams. Here, we chronicle some of the most significant such moves, including leadership changes for the dominant players in the market, as well as some boutiques’ cross-border development.

Key People Moves
Tobias Eichner has made the move from McKinsey to BCG, bringing over 18 years of experience within Private Equity. He has a strong track record as Partner, with both McKinsey and Oliver Wyman, advising financial investors.
Shirley Tewary returns to Deloitte as a Partner in Risk Advisory in the Netherlands. She previously ran her own consultancy business, focused on helping clients with financial reporting, risk & controls, governance, and accountability, this prior to her lengthy stint with Deloitte in South Africa.
FTI Consulting has brought on two Deloitte veterans to its team in France. Karl Payeur and Cyril Naudin have both been appointed a Senior Managing Director; the former leads FTI Consulting’s Forensic & Litigation and Technology divisions in the country, and the latter is also Head of Investigation & Compliance.
Strategy& have added new Partner Mukund Rajan to their European Financial Services
practice, based in Amsterdam, who has a background in strategy with EY and Oliver Wyman among others, across the US and EMEA.
Former Oliver Wyman Partner and Market Manager for Turkey Murat Abay has moved to Trendyol Group, a technology firm, as Head of Services, working on digital and finance topics.
KPMG’s Consulting practice in Luxembourg adds two new Partners, Annick Breton and Christian Guertler, both working within Asset Management and Asset Servicing. The latter comes across from PwC, and the former has a strong track record of consulting, including with Deloitte.
Alvarez & Marsal has strengthened its Financial Services and digital teams in Spain with the addition of a 60-strong team from EY, including eight new Managing Directors.
Davide di Domenico, a long-standing BCG Managing Director and Senior Partner, specialising in various transformations for Industrials clients, has assumed the position of CEO for the EMCR region (Italy, Russia, Turkey, Greece, Israel, Caspian Region).
Pieter Coucke, formerly at BCG, has joined Bain as a Partner, specialising in Digital and IT topics. He has strong expertise in this area, having co-founded BCG Platinion in Belgium.
Dr. Natascha Pavlovic, after more than a decade in Industry, re-joins Horváth as Principal and Head of the Telecom within the firm’s broader Energy, Environment & Telecommunication centre of excellence.
AlixPartners brings on Managing Director Fabian Piontek within their Automotive practice in Germany, with more than 18 years of experience. His consulting focus is on supply chain management, quality management and compliance issues, especially for OEMs.
Former FTI Consulting Senior Director Anna Bartz in London makes the move to Altman Solon. She works across the TMT landscape, specialising in driving value for digital media, e-commerce, and technology investors.
Victor Kuzmin, formerly at Roland Berger, then Mastercard, has joined cybersecurity firm Deep Instinct as an advisor for cyber prevention on the board. He has a background in strategy consulting, consulting Financial Services clients, particularly within FinTech and Payments.
Alvarez & Marsal brings across Managing Director Alfredo Bello as Co-Head of the Bank Restructuring practice in Europe. He has more than 30 years’ experience working on bank restructuring and crisis management across the world, having previously been Head of Distressed Financial Services at AlixPartners.
Justin Keeble, after 14 years with Accenture in their Global Sustainability Services practice, has moved across to Google Cloud in a similar functionality, as a Managing Director of Global Sustainability.
PwC has made a flurry of promotions to senior functions, including Hugh Lloyd Ellis as leader of its Private Equity business. He has been with the firm for over 15 years, serving across the Transaction Services space.
In another instance, Lucy Stapleton at PwC has been named Head of the firm’s Deals practice in the UK.
IBM Consulting has a new global Chairman—Mark Foster, based out of the UK, who has been with the firm for just over five years and has an extensive consulting background, including with Accenture, having also held various board roles.
Albertha Charles takes on leadership of PwC’s Asset and Wealth Management division in the UK. A Partner at the firm since 2014 and a member of PwC’s Partner Diversity Council for 7 years, Albertha has more than 20 years’ experience in Financial Services.
Jürgen Eckel will be the new Head of BCG Digital Ventures’ new combined Europe, Middle East, South America, and Africa (EMESA) region. He’s a long-standing entrepreneur and has been with BCG’s business-building entity for over seven years.
Boris Kainz joins Strategy& from Porsche Consulting as a Partner in Germany. He advises global automotive manufacturers on production and process strategies, as well as transformation.
Also in Germany, Marcus Hoffmann has been appointed co-leader of Strategy&’s Automotive practice across Europe. He brings over two decades of strategy and management consulting experience, having previously worked with Bain & Company, Kearney, Deloitte and Roland Berger as Partner.
BCG have strengthened their Partner group with Pawel Godek and Konrad Kapeluch. Pawel is also head of Corporate Banking for Poland, having joined in 2015, and Konrad is also the Head of Retail Banking in Warsaw; he joined in 2013 as a strategist with a specialism in data and analytics, digital topics, and transformation.
Alvarez & Marsal have promoted Benoît Bestion to Managing Director in their Transaction Advisory team in Paris. Benoit specialises in cross-industry due diligence for private equity and corporate clients and has a background with both EY and Eight Advisory in these areas.
Bain have promoted Alejandro Navarro and Simon Turner to Partner in their Amsterdam office, while also adding Robin Bartling, who has been a Partner in Brazil for the past five years. Alejandro and Robin are part of the firm’s Consumer Products team, while Simon advises both corporate and PE clients within Advanced Manufacturing, Oil and Gas, and related industries.
Kearney has promoted nine Partners in Germany, the UK, Spain, France, and Italy, across its Strategy and Operations functions.
EY have appointed Mark Ford as Global Law Knowledge Leader, supporting Law professionals across the global EY network. He is a long-standing legal professional, having previously been at Clifford Chance and Baker & McKenzie.
INVERTO appoints three Managing Directors, adding to its leadership with Nicolas Willmann, Paul Zahn, and Paul Mohr, all three in Germany.
Dr. Wolfgang Schnellbächer in Germany has been appointed as the procurement leader of BCG Operations’ new EMESA region. Wolfgang has executed numerous transformations and procurement projects via digital tools, working across industries but with an inclination towards the automotive sector.
