People Moves

Katherine J. Brennan has been appointed Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Marsh McLennan, New York. Kate succeeds Peter Beshar, who has served as the company’s Executive Vice President and General Counsel since 2004.

Bain & Company announced that Richard Webster, London-based, will serve as the head of the firm’s global Consumer Products practice. Richard has led Bain’s Consumer Products practice in EMEA since 2019 and plays a global role in Digital Transformation and Innovation.

Susan Bishop, an EY Canada Partner, National SR&ED and Business Incentives Leader, has been appointed Chair of CPA Canada’s SR&ED Advisory Tax Committee. Susan started the Business Tax Incentives Practice in 1992.

DLA Piper appoints Jon Hayes, London based, to assume the role of Global Co-Chair and Senior Partner. Jon will replace Andrew Darwin, also London-based, who will have concluded his four-year term and will join Frank Ryan, New York based, as co-chair. Frank is also co-CEO of the firm.

Matthias Evers, previously a Senior Partner at McKinsey and Company Germany, has moved to Evotect as their Chief Business Officer. He spent over 20 years at McKinsey and focused on Research and Development within Life Sciences.

Oliver Williams joins Bain & Company, UK, as an Expert Partner in their Advanced Analytics practice. Oliver has over 25 years of experience in analytics across banking, investment management and financial technology.

Bain and Company, Netherlands, welcomes Eske Scavenius and Judith Hoogendoorn. Eske rejoins the company as an Associate Partner after spending time at a venture capital fund. Judith also rejoins the company into the position of Vice President after spending time at Unilever.

Abby Godee departs from her Partner role at Deloitte Digital, Netherlands, to join Publicis Sapient, a business transformation company.

Montagu, a Venture Capital and Private equity firm in the UK, has appointed Louise Denning as Chief Financial Officer and Timothy Cochrane as Head of Full Potential Partners. Louise was previously a Chief Financial Officer at C. Hoare & Co. and Timothy was a Senior Partner at Bain & Company.

Alvarez & Marsal’s Automotive & Industrials Group in Detroit welcomes Managing Director Frederic Ramioulle to bolster their Digital Transformation capabilities. Frederic’s expertise is within large scale transformation, performance improvement, and digital innovation.

Claudia Hobl assumes the position of Partner and Associate Director of Climate & Sustainability at BCG, Austria. Claudia has been with BCG for over 11 years and will now drive Climate & Sustainability topics within PIPE across EMEA and globally.

Raphael Calcagno has joined DC Advisory as a Director. Raphael will assist their M&A Infrastructure and Debt Advisory practice in Paris. Raphael was previously a Vice President at Rothschild & Co.

Derk van der Erve, previously a Managing Director at Rabobank, has joined Jefferies as a Managing Director and their Global Head of Agricultural Investment Banking, Netherlands.

Oliver Wyman has opened a new office in Belgium and has appointed Steven Vermeylen as the Head. Partners Muriel Schtickzelle and Kevin Smeets will also join the Belgian leadership team to support and drive the future growth of the business.

Manu Rishi Puri is now a Partner at EY, India. Manu previously spent over 9 years at Accenture where he was responsible for driving the sales and delivery efforts in the Energy and Utilities Industry.

Nicolas Guillo joins Mazars, France, as a Partner within their Transaction Services team. Nicolas has previously been at both PwC and Alvarez & Marsal, he specializes in financial due diligence provided to private equity investors and corporate buyers.

BDO, UK, appoints Radeep Mathew and Ed Gibson as tax partners. Ed has moved from Deloitte and joined BDO as an International Tax Partner. Radeep comes to BDO from the consulting firm, Leyton.

FTI-BOLD, the Dutch arm of FTI Consulting, has strengthened its Transformations practice with a four-strong team hire. Paul Stoop, Marleen Swart, Niels Jansen and Joost van Hout all join from Ballentine, a boutique professional services firm based in Amsterdam. The quartet focuses on strategic and management consulting services.

Alvarez & Marsal Corporate Transformation practice welcomes Lucie Toscani as Managing Director in Germany. Lucie is an international business leader who has experience with restructuring and growth dynamics.

Anthony Morlon joins Deloitte, France, as their Partner within Valuation & Modeling. Prior to this Anthony was at KPMG and EY.

Auke Leenstra, Managing Director, Head of Banking and part of the Executive Committee for Citi in the Netherlands takes a new position. This position is to lead Citi’s growing Commercial Bank in Western Europe.

Bain and Company, France, announces the arrival of Aude Schönbächler Chanudet as Partner. Aude joins the Financial Services practice and brings her expertise on finance, risk and capital management topics.

Arthur D. Little has made a series of Partner promotions across the globe. Tarjun Vir Singh, Ben Enejo, Engin Beken, Florence Carlot, Julien Duvaud-Schelnast, Marcus Beard, Michael Eiden, Mitsuhiro Henry Umebayashi, Ryan Alnesayan have all been promoted to Partner across cities such as Dubai, Paris and Boston.

Strategy&, part of the PwC network, welcomes a new partner in Germany. Dieter Kern is a leading practitioner for people, human resources and leadership strategies, as well as transformational challenges.

Prabhav Sharma is now the Chief Executive Officer at RIVIGO. RIVIGO is a technology company that is building the material movement pipeline of India. Prior to this, Prabhav was a Partner at McKinsey and Company where he led the digital capability in resources for McKinsey Asia.

AlixPartners New York announced the return of Matt Jacques as a Managing Director in the firm’s Investigations, Disputes & Risk Practice. Matt brings more than two decades of experience as an auditor, forensic accountant, and a regulator.

Laurence de Rosamel has been promoted to Managing Partner at Clearwater International. Laurence joined Clearwater International France in 2017 to create the Debt Advisory practice.

Pavlos Papaefstathiou, a Partner at BCG UK, is now the lead of Pride@BCG for Europe, Middle East, South America & Africa. Pavlos is taking over from Thomas Delano and Annika Zawadzki, who have co-led the regional Pride@BCG network for many years.

Dr. Johannes Schneider has departed EY- Parthenon Austria and joined Strategy&. Johannes has joined as a Partner and Managing Director and has a strong industry focus on Energy, as well as the Industrial Product sector.

Deloitte bolsters their Financial Advisory business in the UK with the addition of three new partners. Jonathan Tyler joins as a Real Assets Advisory partner; Claire Foxall joins as an Advisory Corporate Finance partner; and finally, Bhaskar Acharya joins as an Advisory Corporate Finance partner.

Olivier Duval and Olivier Maltese have both been appointed Managing Directors for Alvarez and Marsal France. This will strengthen their Corporate Transformation services and will continue to diversify offerings regionally and globally.

Bernardo Silva joins AlixPartners as Managing Director in its Consumer Products Practice. Bernardo brings over 27 years worth of experience and will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.

Vijay D’Silva retired from McKinsey and Company after 28 years. Vijay was a Senior Partner Emeritus of their Global Banking & Securities and Digital Practices.

Ankura welcomes Manuela Mackert to its German management team. Appointed a Senior Managing Director in their Frankfurt office, Manuela Mackert brings over 25 years of professional experience in compliance and risk management to Ankura.

EY-Parthenon has appointed four new Associate Partners – Michael Schwitters, Nicola Grimes, Nick Partridge, and Stuart Clarke. These Associate Partners cover a range of topics between them such as supply chain, value creation, and strategic technology consulting.

PA Consulting welcome Tayo Oyetan as a Partner in their Transport team in the UK. Tayo has 20 years’ experience of helping clients to deliver complex projects and transformation programmes.

Tracey Countryman departs from Accenture UK after 27 years to join PA Consulting. Tracey has joined as the Global Head of Markets and has extensive experience in operational transformations.

Camille Brege takes on the role of leading BCG GAMMA in Paris. Camille takes over from Nicolas de Bellefonds, having already been part of the team for several years.

Dr. Christoph Steiger departs from Roland Berger. Christoph was a Senior Partner who focused on Digital Strategy & Transformation within engineering and manufacturing-oriented industries.

Soyoung Kwon joins Bain and Company as a Partner in their Consumer Products and Performance Improvement, based in Atlanta. She has deep expertise in enterprise-wide EBITDA improvement.

Susannah Nicklin has joined Frog Capital and will be on the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Susannah brings commercial experience from Pantheon International Plc and Goldman Sachs.

HSBC has appointed Emma Bunnell as CEO for its Channel Islands and Isle of Man business and its HSBC Expat brand headquartered in Jersey.

Capgemini Invent appoints Anne Marijn van Workum-Bakker as their new head of its Finance Transformation & Digital Core team in the Netherlands. Anne brings twelve years of experience in management consulting and industry to the firm, gained in The Netherlands as well as in Belgium and Singapore.

Lale Dagli Ertok has been appointed Managing Director at BCG Turkey. Prior to this, Lale was at Oliver Wyman for over 10 years.

Market Intelligence

Dutch bank ING will no longer finance new oil and gas projects, becoming the biggest bank yet to commit to such a step in the fight against climate change. ING will not finance projects approved after Dec. 31, 2021 but would still fund energy firms. Although ING is already phasing down financing to the oil and gas industry and scaling up lending for renewables.

EY announced a new collaboration with venture builder Carbon13, in a partnership aimed at helping develop and scale companies developing solutions to reduce CO2 emissions.

Advent and Permira have led the $14bn McAfee acquisition. This has meant the acquisition of all outstanding shares in McAfee common stock which will be priced at $26 per share, in an all-cash transaction valued at over $14bn.

BearingPoint Capital launched its London office in January 2022 after success in Europe since their inception two years ago. BearingPoint Capital is the Technology M&A advisory arm of BearingPoint.

Al Rajhi Bank Malaysia (ARBM) is working with GFT and Oliver Wyman to design, build and launch a cloud-based Islamic digital bank. This follows the recent appointment of its new head of digital bank, Ikram Khaliq.

Ford is splitting its auto business into two separate units: Ford Blue, for traditional gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, and Ford Model E, for new electric models.

PwC Belgium supported the Biobest Group on the successful acquisition of Plant Products with their financial and tax due diligence services. This ensures Biobest’s growth in Canada and the USA. The company also supported Fagron for concluding the acquisition of Pharma-Pack BV and for acquiring a minority stake in HeW Pharma.

Infosys and The Economist Group announced a new strategic partnership designed to enable and accelerate sustainability solutions and drive world-changing impact through a new business-to-business model.

Macquarie Asset Management, in a consortium with BCI and MEAG, has agreed to acquire Reden Solar, an independent producer of photovoltaic renewable energy in France and abroad.

Arcwide is a new joint venture between BearingPoint and IFS. Arcwide brings together professional services with cutting-edge enterprise software, providing a single unified experience for the entire customer lifecycle.

Cognizant has announced a collaboration with Microsoft to deliver a new digital health solution to enhance remote patient monitoring for improved medical care.

Kroll announced the launch of the Valuation Advisory Services practice in Luxembourg led by Armand Kantar. To expand their Valuation Advisory Services practice into Luxembourg is a step for them to enhance how they support a leading European financial hub.

Eight Advisory assisted Sofina with its investment in Biobest Group by providing finance and tax due diligence. Sofina is a Belgium-based investment company which invests both directly and through Private Equity funds.

Alvarez & Marsal New York and their Healthcare Industry Group have launched the Public Health Service practice, led by Managing Director Steven Bussey. The company has also launched the Human Capital and Workforce Management Services led by Bianca A. Briola.

Cinven, an International Private Equity firm, has agreed a deal with Bayer to acquire its Environmental Science Professional business for an enterprise value of €2.4bn.

Solvay Belgium is separating the Company into two independent publicly traded companies. EssentialCo will comprise of leading mono-technology businesses including Soda Ash, Peroxides, Silica and Coatis, which are reported as the Company’s Chemicals segment, as well as the Special Chem business. SpecialtyCo will comprise the Materials segment, including its high-growth, high-margin Specialty Polymers, its high-performance Composites business, as well as the majority of its Solutions segment.

Sia Partners acquires Stratumn, a French software firm that helps companies digitize their finance operations by leveraging the blockchain.

Recticel, an international industrial player, expands its insulation activities with the acquisition of the insulated panel specialist Trimo.

The Dassy Group, a designer, manufacturer, and distributor of qualitative and innovative professional work wear and personal protection equipment, takes Dovesco on board to support growth ambitions. PwC Transactions team supports Dassy by performing vendor due diligence.

Accenture has acquired Alfa Consulting, a Spanish consulting firm with around 50 consultants and staff. Alfa Consulting is one of Spain’s leading mid-sized supply chain and operations consultancies.

Eight Advisory and Eight Advisory Tax have assisted Groupe Gorgé in the context of its acquisition of iXblue. Groupe Gorgé is a high-tech industrial group, active in civil and military robotics, fire and nuclear safety and 3D printing.

BCG has launched a model bank on Vault called InQbate. InQbate accelerates the building of a new digital bank. It offers an end-to-end customer journey with multiple products, covering onboarding, account management and loan application.
